The excellent technical characteristics of polycarbonate (PC) determine its wide range of applications. Its main technical characteristics are as follows.
(1) Light transmittance: Depending on the color, the light transmittance of PC board can be as high as 89%, which is comparable to glass.

(2) Impact resistance: Good toughness, not easy to be damaged during transportation, installation and use: The impact resistance is 250 times that of the same glass, and it will not break brittlely like ordinary glass. It can adapt to destructive impacts such as storms, hail, and heavy snow and is not easy to break.

(3) Anti-ultraviolet and condensation: The surface of the PC board is specially treated with microcrystalline reinforcement and has a UV protection layer. The back side has anti-condensation treatment. When installed, the front side faces outward to block the short-wave ultraviolet rays contained in the sun that are harmful to the human body. The anti-condensation treatment on the back side can also insulate and prevent fog.

(4) Light weight: Save the cost of transportation, handling, installation and support frame. The weight of the hollow is only 10%~15% of that of glass.

(5) Flame retardant: The ignition point of PC board is 580℃. It will extinguish itself after leaving the fire. It will not produce toxic gas when burning and will not help the spread of fire.

(6) Bendability: According to the design drawings, cold bending is adopted on site to install arches, semicircular roofs and windows. Compared with glass, it can be cut, processed and bent on site, which is more convenient and quick in actual construction and can meet the requirements of on-site modeling.

(7) Sound insulation: PC board adopts hollow honeycomb structure design, which has obvious sound insulation effect and better sound insulation effect than glass of the same thickness.
