Italy Medical Cannabis Project: High-Efficiency A-Type Single-Span PC Greenhouse for Precision Cultivation

In the context where the requirements for environmental control in the cultivation of medicinal plants are becoming increasingly strict, our company, leveraging advanced greenhouse manufacturing technology, successfully delivered a high-end A-type single-span PC board greenhouse with an area of 270 square meters to an Italian client. Since its commissioning in 2019, this project has provided an ideal artificial climate solution for the client's medical cannabis cultivation with its stable structure and precise environmental control capabilities. 

Taking into account the local climate characteristics of Italy and the particularity of medical cannabis cultivation, the height of this greenhouse is 5.4 meters and the span is 9 meters. A single-span structure is adopted to ensure an open interior space, facilitating ventilation and the placement of large-scale cultivation equipment. The main framework of the greenhouse is made of high-strength galvanized steel pipes, which have excellent load-bearing capacity and corrosion resistance. The outer covering material is selected as high-quality polycarbonate (PC) hollow sheet, which not only has uniform light transmission but also has excellent insulation and impact resistance, effectively isolating external environmental interference. 

To ensure the stability of the growth cycle of medical marijuana, this greenhouse integrates multiple automated systems: 

Ventilation and Heating: Equipped with a top ventilation system, it utilizes the principle of hot air rising to naturally discharge heat; at the same time, it is equipped with a fan heating system, providing uniform heat supplementation during cold seasons. 

• Sunshade control: Install an electric internal sunshade device. It can open and close automatically according to the intensity of sunlight, effectively preventing plants from being burned by strong light, and at the same time providing insulation and heat preservation during the night. 
• Precise cooling and dehumidification: To address the high humidity environment caused by high-density planting, the greenhouse is equipped with a negative pressure cooling system consisting of fans and wet curtains, and an industrial dehumidifier is introduced to strictly control the air humidity and effectively prevent the growth of mold. 
• Professional cultivation and environmental control systems:As the core of the project, the greenhouse is fully equipped with plant growth lamps, which can simulate specific light spectra and make up for the insufficient natural light. What is particularly noteworthy is the adoption of the EBB & FLOW (tide-type) cultivation system. This irrigation method, through regular circulation of nutrient solutions, provides sufficient oxygen and water for the plant roots, significantly improving the water and fertilizer utilization rate, and is highly in line with the high-standard cultivation norms for medical marijuana. 

Furthermore, the entire greenhouse is equipped with an intelligent control system that collects and analyzes data from sensors located in various areas (such as temperature and humidity, light, CO2 concentration, etc.), enabling automatic control or remote intervention of fans, wet curtains, shading nets, and growth lamps. This truly achieves "unmanned" precise management.
