Addressing the challenges of hot and humid tropical climates for vegetable cultivation, AX Greenhouose successfully completed and delivered a greenhouse project in the Philippines in 2019. The project features a four-span peach peak arch greenhouse integrated with three active climate control systems: fan-pad system, vertical side window ventilation system, and motorized internal shade system. Combined with outer covering of transparent polycarbonate (PC) sheets, we have created a stable and controllable vegetable production environment for our client under harsh conditions with temperatures ranging from 30-40℃.

Structure & Materials

Peach Peak Arch Structure

The project comprises 4 independent spans, each measuring 36 meters in length, with an inner arch span of 9 meters and an outer arch span of 10 meters. The peach peak arch shape, compared to traditional round arches, features a narrowed top design that facilitates better hot air convergence and exhaust, significantly improving natural ventilation efficiency. The entire skeleton is constructed from hot-dip galvanized steel pipes with uniform coating and strong corrosion resistance, effectively withstanding rust risks in the Philippines' high-humidity environment and ensuring long-term structural stability.

Outer PC Sheet

Balancing Light Transmission and Protection

The outer covering uses transparent polycarbonate (PC) sheets, offering excellent UV resistance, anti-aging properties, and impact resistance. The high light transmittance of PC sheets ensures adequate natural light for crops, while their closed nature blocks direct intrusion of hot outside air and provides rain protection during the monsoon season, offering reliable physical protection for crops.

Three Active Climate Control Systems: Precision Response to Tropical Climate


Fan-Pad System: Uses negative pressure evaporative cooling to draw outside air through water-soaked pads before entering the greenhouse, actively reducing indoor temperature by 5-8℃ – a core solution for tropical heat.


Vertical Side Window Ventilation System: Large vertical-opening windows along greenhouse sides enable efficient air exchange as hot air rises, quickly exhausting hot, humid indoor air and effectively reducing humidity levels.


Motorized Internal Shade System: Motor-driven shade fabric opens and closes flexibly. During high-light periods, it automatically deploys to reflect a portion of incoming sunlight, reducing light and heat radiation and lowering indoor heat load.


These three systems can operate independently or in coordinated mode. During hot, high-light conditions, the motorized shade automatically deploys to reduce radiant heat, the fan-pad system activates for active cooling, and vertical side windows assist in exhausting accumulated hot, humid air. Together, they achieve precise temperature and humidity management.
